Fiona Patten, president of Australian Sex Party told that high quality, p2p video based live adult content on mobile platforms like iphone 4 or similar is comercially reasonable with the use of wireless networks. However, the adult industry's paid and live video services will not be possible without a change on Broadcasting Services Act.
Adult content providers in the United States were already working on monetising iPhone 4’s Facetime software for some time. Adult industry is posting job advertisements on the internet about adult video chat subject, and even some adult content providers are giving away free mobile phones like iphone 4 to customers, requesting a subsctiption for their paid services in exchange.
Patten told that restricting access to and filtering adult video by people who are under 18 is relatively easy, as it will be clear to determine a user's age when you see them on the video. According to Patten, age verification is really easy on a mobile device like iPhone 4, because you are actually looking at the person's face on the video so that makes it easy to decide if they are actually over 18 or not. Different than having a traditional conversation that is without the video, a conversation with video allows both parties prove they are mature enough, like showing ID's to the camera.
If Australian Sex Party manages changing the Broadcasting Services Act, telecommunication companies will be unlikely turn down the opportunities in means of higher revenues that came with using adult chat services.
It is still not clear, however, that the Broadcasting Services Act will be reviewed to allow services like adult video chat or not. |
